Back when I first started taking pictures, Claire came to my studio for the first time after just having learned how to sit up on her own. Everything was going great - until my son threw a ball that hit Claire's mom in the face, and my cat proceeded to eat the pretty pink tutu Claire's mom had brought for her.
I was mortified.
Thankfully, she was able to look past those moments - lol - and has since been back to my studio a handful of times.
I always look forward to Claire coming because she is such a beautiful little girl. Yes, it helps to take beautiful photos, but when your subject is gorgeous? It makes your job that much easier.
And, once again, she didn't let me down.
Just as an aside, I always love a good outtake photo. I think it shows all the hard work that is actually put into the attempts to take beautiful pictures. Not everyone always appreciates that photos are actually something that take quite a bit of effort - from the photographer, from the child, and even from the parents!
Claire wasn't exactly "feeling" pictures yesterday. This is completely normal for a 2 or 3 year old. I always try and reassure parents that "we are getting great shots, don't worry about the tears in between," but somehow I think they always leave feeling a bit defeated.
Here were a couple of my favorites:
Claire's mom was trying to show her how she needed to put her head in her hands - as you can see, she wasn't exactly thrilled. Lol.
I was able to calm her down with some skittles. She still wasn't thrilled with the idea, but after this point, we got some fantastic smiles. See? A little candy can go a looong way. ;)
Thanks again, Laura and Claire, for a fun afternoon! I can't wait to have Colton in the studio this summer for more fun with your family.

She is gorgeous..... but what else do you expect when you have a beautiful mom. She reminds me so much of you (Laura), there was even a little snap shot of you in the behind the scene's shot. I loved it!!! Miss you so much

Claire is beautiful!!! I remember those days. Fondly. The boys just weren't really thrilled with having their pictures taken. Just like these.....that only lives in your memory; can't see it in the pictures.
