This session was the shortest session in the history of all sessions. ;)
Jennifer and her family showed up, we took some photos...and then, just like that, little man wasn't having any of it. Poor little guy has colic, and while I was super stressed about wanting to get more photos, she just said, "Nah. I trust ya. He's over it."
And literally 10 minutes later, I watched them drive away. Lol.
Thankfully...you can't tell from the photos that he was no longer into it. For that short period, he was so sweet, and happy - and it was pretty obvious how much he loves his mama. ;)
Thanks again, Jen! You have a lovely family and it was great to see you after all these years - it may even be unnatural how amazing you look, after just having a baby! ;)

Sweet baby girls | Albuquerque family photographer
I've known this family for a long, long time. Eryn, Victor and I go way back to my days as a waitress at Chili's. When we moved to New Mexico, they contacted me right away about doing newborn photos.
It was a 3-hour drive, but totally worth it. Their older daughter, M, was so cute. She was like my shadow for a large portion of the shoot, then she was in heaven when I let her wear the pink petti skirt I had brought along.
Such a freakin' doll.
And her baby sister - OMG. The biggest eyes I have ever seen on a newborn. She didn't sleep much, but I think I am starting to prefer the awake shots anyways. Lol.
Thanks again, Eryn and Victor! Enjoy your sneak peek.

Albuquerque, NM, newborn photographer | Emri
Second blog post of the day, which means the second gallery completed for the day.
Productivity at its finest.
Meet Emri.
Her mama and I were due with our little girls at almost the exact same time. As the story goes, my little Charlotte came two months early and Emri...she was right on time. :)
At exactly 1 week old, she was the sweetest, quietest, most easily posed baby I have ever photographed.
Her session lasted all of 2 hours (if that). And, when we were done, Tiffany and Carlos made the most awesome green chile burgers ever.
Mmmm.
I love New Mexico.
And babies. :)
Thanks again, Tiffany and Carlos! Congratulations on your beautiful baby girl.

Isadora | Grand Rapids family photographer
It was just about three years ago when my friend from school, Amy, arranged to have photos taken of her newborn baby girl, Taylor. Over time, we've kept up with Taylor's annual photos, and this time around I had the privilege of photographing her in her third year, but I also got to sneak a few shots of her brand new baby sister, Isadora.
What a pair these two little girls make. Taylor was all smiles when I took her outside for some photos...and she was so incredibly gentle and loving with her new baby sister. It's amazing how children so young can still be so maternal and loving.
Thanks again, Amy and Grant!! Congratulations on the newest addition to your family!! :)

Baby Ali | Grand Rapids newborn photographers
Just a little over two years ago, I was in the home of this couple shooting the newborn photos of their first little newb -- Levi. Today, I was met with 6-day-old Ali. She was just as easy to photograph as her older brother, sleeping the entire shoot and stopping only a couple times to fill her belly. Perfect!
Thanks again, Stacy and Aaron! Enjoy your sneak peek.

Baby K | Grand Rapids newborn photographer
I'm finally, finally catching up with all my blogging. It has been an insane few weeks!
Sunday morning, I had the chance to meet up with some new clients and their two little girls -- one of whom was only six days old (swoon). They were a ton of fun, and their girls were adorable. It's pretty rare that a newborn baby comes to my studio and sleeps for pretty much the entire time...one day when she's old enough to understand, I'll thank her for taking it easy on me. ;)
Thanks again, P family! Enjoy your sneak!

Crew | Grand Rapids Newborn Photographers
OMG, I am so far behind on my blogging. My apologies to those of you who have come here time and again, expecting to see photos of my latest session. Life seems to be getting in the way these days. :)
This handsome little man came to me at just a little over a week old. Waiting for him to fall asleep felt a bit like watching a pot of water and waiting for it to boil, lol, but he finally gave us those sleepy eyes.
Meet handsome Crew (fab name, right!?). He is a total keeper.
Next up - my Denver boudoir sessions, and one more family session. I can't wait to show those off, hehe.

Baby B | Grand Rapids birth photographers
The whole story behind this birth kind of makes me giggle. Not because there was anything funny actually going on, but because it was all so meticulously planned out - Carol and I had been in talks about the birth for a little over a month beforehand...and I still managed to miss the big "moment."
Carol was set to be induced on a Tuesday morning. So, like all my clients, I told her to text me when she was dilated to 4cm.
The first text I received was around 9:30am..."OMG! I'm at 6cm!"
This was the first time that she had been checked.
I raced out of bed, got my camera stuff together, and headed to the hospital.
I was there within an hour...but when I walked into the room, I could hear the sweet sounds of a crying baby.
Clearly, Baby B was ready to make his appearance...photographer present, or not. Lol.
It was a huge bummer to miss that moment, but it was still precious having the chance to see this family come together, in awe of their newest addition.
Congrats to friends and family. Enjoy the sneak peek!

Baby C | Grand Rapids newborn photographers
My relationship with this little guy has been but a whirlwind.
Meghan had contacted me only a few days before we scheduled Baby C's newborn photos. They drove up this morning, and I instantly fell in love.
First of all, not only did he have a natural faux-hawk, but he was the size of a 6-month old...not a 6-week old. Nothing makes me melt faster than a big ol' baby whose thighs are too thick for most of my knit diaper covers.
Friends and family, enjoy your sneak peek. :)

Miss Livia | Grand Rapids Newborn Photographers
I'm always nervous when a newborn comes to my studio, because I never know what to expect.
At least with toddlers, I can dangle Skittles in front of their eyes and get a half-smile or a, "Cheeeeese!"
Thankfully, with this one, I didn't have to worry.
Once Miss Livia was asleep, she was down for the count.
We twisted her around, changed her, loved on her, and never once did we hear a peep.
She had the most beautiful skin and that hair...oh my. The hair.
Family and friends, enjoy your sneak peek. :)
